PREPARATION
Protective clothing is always a good idea even though this is a solvent free epoxy coating. Some people have a resin allergy or sensitivity. Coveralls, rubber or latex gloves and eye protection are a must. A face mask or respirator may be needed if you are sanding and removing old paint. Please refer to the MSDS, available by request.

THE BOAT.
Protect the work area from contamination of the environment around you as well as keeping overspray away from your work. If the bottom paint is sloughing or ablative type it needs to be removed. Other hard paints can be overcoated.

Double tape your waterline to ease the edge. The hull need not be absolutely dry. Aquaply M likes moisture. Keep product out of direct sunlight.
Epoxy grade rollers will work best. Have rags and either acetone or lacquer thinner handy for clean up.
  • Prime if needed with AQUAPLY PRIMER.
  • Open parts A and B and examine. Stir each part individually using clean stir sticks or electric mixer. Do not cross contaminate.
  • Mix equal amounts by volume parts A and B. Stir well. Do not mix more than you can use in 15 minutes.
  • Roll on hull in a vertical motion, fore to aft.
  • Allow first coat to tack (thumb print tacky) before recoating. Recoat as needed.
  • Watch for sags or drips and use a tap brush to smooth these out. A foam brush works well.
  • Stand back and admire your work. Good job.
  • Let it cure for 24-48 hours, then you may launch. It will continue to cure underwater.
  • Careful when you sling the boat, its slickery.
  MAINTENANCE

Hull maintenance will depend on many factors.
  • Location
  • Activity
  • Salt or fresh water
  • Race or cruise
  • Esthetics
  • Diver availability
Only you the boat owner can determine how frequently your hull needs to be cleaned, a good rule of thumb, when it looks crummy, clean it. Use a soft cloth, brush or burlap to remove marine growth. Don't let it go too long, it will be more difficult to...
